How Can We Best Serve People with Diabetes Given the Changing Healthcare Dynamics?
Join the conversation during ADCES’ Next Advocacy Townhall on Tuesday June, 23

The ADCES Advocacy Committee will be hosting our next townhall on Tuesday, June 23 at 11:00am PT/1:00pm CT/ 2:00pm ET. All ADCES members are invited and welcome to attend. We are excited to announce that we will be joined by special guest Julie Babbage, the CEO of the Diabetes Patient Advocacy Coalition (DPAC). Julie will be talking about DPAC’s advocacy efforts and how ADCES and DPAC can work together to support policies that improve the health of people with diabetes. Have a question for Julie? Submit your question here.

Our goal for the June 23 Townhall is to talk about ways we as diabetes care and education specialists can best help and support our clients with diabetes, especially in light of COVID-19. Below is a tentative agenda:

  1. A conversation with DPAC CEO Julie Babbage
  2. What’s new with Medicare? Learn more about the new Medicare Part D Insulin Savings Model
  3. Insulin co-pay capping legislation in states
  4. Tips of the trade: Navigating patient assistance programs
  5. New ADCES state advocacy resources
  6. Discussion and questions

For diabetes care and education specialists, the term “advocacy” might have different meanings. It can mean advocating for legislation or talking to lawmakers. It can also mean helping your clients get the insulin they need. It can also mean donating to a cause or sharing information on social media.

We hope you can join us! As always, this is meant to be an open discussion. Please feel free to share an update from your state or ask a question. We are all learning!

Future townhall calls will be held on Tuesdays, September 29 and November 17 at the same time. Mark your calendars!
