ADCES Advocacy Week and Virtual 2020 Public Policy Forum
 September 29- October 6, 2020

Due to the pandemic, ADCES has shifted its annual in-person Public Policy Forum, originally scheduled for May 2020, to a virtual event. The good news? Since we are going virtual, ADCES is able to open up this event to all ADCES members! Additionally, the 2020 Virtual Public Policy Forum will take place during ADCES’ Advocacy Week kicking off on Tuesday September 29.

During ADCES’ Advocacy Week, we’ll provide opportunities for ADCES members to learn about what’s happening on Capitol Hill and discuss important issues. We will also be hosting a “Hill Day” on Monday, October 5 and Tuesday, October 6 for members interested in meeting with their legislators. We will arrange for phone meetings with your U.S. Representatives and your U.S. Senators. Though we won’t be able to visit Washington, we can still meet with our legislators to advocate for the issues important to us!

This year, ADCES advocates have stepped up to advocate for a number of critical issues, including advocating for the Expanding Access to Diabetes Self-Management Training Act (H.R. 1840, S. 814), working on insulin co-pay capping legislation in different states, and sending close to 700 letters to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services urging the agency to expand telehealth during the pandemic. We hope to use this Advocacy Week to share updates on these important issues and support ADCES advocates with the tools they need to change policy!
