The 2018 AADE national election has opened for Membership voting, May 15-June 18th. On the ballet this year is a slate of candidates who are amazing and strong thought Leaders!
I encourage you to open up each nominee’s BIO to review their experience in diabetes education, allowing eligibility to serve in a national leadership position. The vast roles each applicant brings to the ballet, is unique and fascinating.
When choosing your candidate, please select the candidate you believe will assist in guiding the future of the diabetes educator, allowing our professional Association, AADE, be the driving force in defining our current state and safeguarding our future. Strong visionaries are required to assist in developing a steadfast path into the future role of the diabetes educator.
Each of us are experiencing the changing landscape and responsibilities diabetes educators are held accountable for. Perhaps you are moving away from hands on education and heading towards virtual education through advanced technology. There is no doubt our roles are going to change over the next decade, hence we must be proactive today in defining where and how we should be expanding in healthcare.
With this being said, each member of AADE has the responsibility to cast a vote, securing strong leadership is in place today, for a strong tomorrow!
