Are you IN?

Hi Hawaii ADE family,

Huh! We have this fantastic way to share information between everyone in our Hawaii State Network now.  So how come we are not using it?  Well, I just recently had an AHA (eureka) moment.  I realized that everything is way too quiet in our organization. It's no wonder that the folks on the neighbor islands are feeling isolated. Heck, I feel isolated here on Oahu.  So why are we not talking?  I miss you guys...

So here is my eureka moment: I realized that if you subscribe to a COI (community of interest, AKA one of those exclusive AADE groups that you used to have to pay $15 bucks a year to be a part of but are now FREE), you know that those diabetes educators are always talking, always networking; asking questions and sharing their knowledge.  These groups are full of energy and vibrance.  What the heck is wrong with us in (this here) paradise?

Well, I believe the answer is, (tah dum), we don't know how to manage our subscriptions!  Did you know that we have a fantastic little email group right here in the Aloha state?  That you can simply subscribe to our Hawaii group, and it will go right to your email address of choice. No pesky logging in to the AADE website every time.  In fact, the only time you have to log in is if you would like to post a blog article just like this one.  (Yes, since you asked, I DID have to go and look up my AADE number).  Guilty as charged, guess I am not participating as well).  But I have seen the error of my ways and will start this off.

To be a part of our happy little group, simply log into the AADE website (yes, you do have to log in to do this, sorry).  Then go to "My Options" at the top of any page of MY AADE NETWORK. Select "My subscriptions" from the drop down menu.  Then go to the Select Category drop down and choose the State Network Discussions group, and click the ADD button. That's it.  You can also try picking COI from the first drop down and choosing any of the groups listed, then click ADD. It's that simple.  Come on, lets start talking!
