Hello, Illinois Diabetes Care and Education Specialists. I am excited to give some updates around the ADCES 2020 meeting along with free CE opportunities coming to our IL membership. As we continue to navigate unprecedented times, ADCES is working to make ADCES 2020 an engaging educational experience. The event will be held Friday, August 13th through Sunday, August 16th. Each day of the conference will have a corresponding theme. These will include: Clinical Integration Day, Racial Equity Day, Technology Day, and Behavioral Health Day. The combination of live and on-demand events will offer up to 31.5 CE hours. Disciplines included are nurses, registered dietitians, pharmacists, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, MCHES, and CHES Specifics on CE opportunities are located here. These exciting topic areas and CEs will be available for a reduced member price of $99, student price of $25, and non-member price of $199.

The IL ADCES Education Committee is also busy working on a 2020-2021 virtual offerings. We appreciate all of the feedback we have received regarding the topics, timeline, and logistics. We are excited to report all of the CE we are planning will be free for members. We are working on the details, but the confirmed topic areas will include: pharmacology updates, technology, and cardiometabolic disease. More details to come soon.

Last but not least, we will be hosting another town hall the week of the August 24th. We will have Kate Thomas back for advocacy updates. We are currently searching out members who are navigating DSMES via telehealth. Please reach out if you would like to assist.

As you can see our organization is focused on education, continued development, and fellowship. We are continue to evolve as our healthcare delivery system does. Please keep in touch to help us serve you.
