Leadership Forum 2011

What a great experience!  I was lucky enough to attend the Leadership Forum in Chicago, which is a wonderful city.  The lights, the hustle and bustle and the shopping were just a few added perks.

More importantly, there was a wealth of ideas on building communities, how to be an effective but lazy leader, how to utilize My AADE and many other topics.  What I came away with was a great sense of how dedicated diabetes educators are and how much we enjoy helping patients and each other to achieve great things,  Great things often happen in small, sometimes imperceptible ways  I also am proud of AADE for taking on the multitude of challenges as we move forward as an organization and gained a better understanding of how the changes will help us.

Cynthia D'Amour  and Denise Eaves were excellent speakers.  Cynthia reminded us how important the work we do is and how to gather agreat team around us to get things done.  Denise reminded us to take care of ourselves  Many resources were given, and I think I will purchase A Coward's Guide to Conflict.

Thanks to AADE for a wonderful weekend..
