The Iowa CB has been discussing putting together a state meeting. Last year in November, we put together a 1/2 day CEU event in Des Moines. This meeting drew in 10 participants. The weather was bad that day, freezing rain and ice. When we discussed putting this event together, we paired it up with the Iowa Diabetes Summit, hoping that it would attract participants from the Summit. AND we did! One person. That one person has changed things for us though. She has helped us become a more diverse group that now has dietitians, pharmacists and nurses represented! We learned a lot about what goes into planning these events. The amount of time that it takes to fill out necessary paperwork to receive accreditation for our CEUs. The planning time for food, snacks and networking.
As we begin planning for the second annual IA Statewide meeting, we want to know...what do you want in a state meeting? You are the dues paying members of our group and we want to know what is important to you.
Is the Medicaid reimbursement of diabetes testing supplies giving you trouble?
Do you want to discuss the 2019 ADA guidelines and the changes in the treatment algorithm? How has it affected your practice?
Do you want to know more about Project Vision? Do you have ideas on where the diabetes education specialty is going?
Do you want to learn more about billing in your practice setting?
We want to plan a meeting that is important to you! Is it important that we offer the meeting virtual? Would it be easier to take a 3-4 hours away from your day and participate via webcam without having to travel several hours? We can set this up!
Does the time of year make a difference for you? Last year, we held the event on a Saturday morning in November. Would a weekend in October work better? Would you prefer it be on a work day? Would a thursday or friday work better for you? Is morning or afternoon better?
There are so many logistics and we want to know what YOU want! We want you to join us!
