This is a diabetes self-management education and support, diabetes care and education specialist, and other associated areas advocacy position. There is usually an abbreviated day of training on advocacy topics a day or two before meeting with federal level legislators virtually. Individuals are not expected to interact with legislators / senators alone. Advocacy meetings have been "teamed" with Alabama educators and Louisiana educators; topics are usually divided between team participants; and are opportunities that will provide you with experience your current position may not provide.
While we'd like to have at least one advocacy representative, more than one may apply and we'll do it with more than one!
