My first AADE

Going into my first experience at AADE I was very excited, filled with ambition and the motivation to attend many sessions.  The first day at the Coordinating Body Networking Reception, Missouri had a great table with good attendance.  I was able to meet several of our members and see several familiar faces.  The next morning began the sessions and I was up and out of my hotel room by 5:30am.  I didn’t get moving that early again 😊 but it was a great session on CGMs and glad I attended.  The AADE app was a great tool for being really organized, adding sessions to your schedule, and even finding your way around the convention center.   There were several different sessions available at each time and with each one you could access all the slides and take notes. However, after day two I soon found out that I was overly ambitious and unable to attend as many sessions as I had hoped.

The truth is there was a great variety with several interesting topics but you really have to pace yourself.  The exhibit hall was amazing and another great opportunity to learn and network.  Next time I won’t be so hard on myself.  There is a lot to see, do and learn but it’s important to take time for yourself.  It’s a great time to meet new people, explore some parts of a city, possibly try new foods and have a little fun too….and don’t forget to pack your swimsuit/trunks.
