“Reflecting on the Past Year’s Accomplishments of the Missouri Coordinating Body; Looking forward to 2015:
Dear Members, Please read with pride the accomplishments of our Missouri Coordinating Body (CB) Leadership Team in 2014:
January 2014:
Mary Lawrence, Chair and Nancy Trebilcock, Interim Web Admin, traveled to Chicago to represent our Missouri members at the annual Leadership meeting. Nancy participated in a panel discussion and presentation: “Celebrate Your Successes, Tips to Increase Members’ Engagement”.
Planning committee for the first statewide conference began to “meet” via conference calls. The Missouri CB Board collaborated with the Kansas City LNG members: Catherine Parkhurst, Nancy Mack, Mary Beth Fisher, Glee Peters and Melissa Zalonis.
May 2014:
Leisa Blanchard, Missouri CB Advocacy Chair, represented Missouri in Washington, DC for AADE’s annual “March on Washington” and advocacy training.
August 2014:
Your Board attended the annual business meeting and conference in Orlando, Florida and hosted a table display highlighting Missouri at the CB/COI networking event. It was well received especially the scrapbook with photos from past events.
September 2014:
Our first statewide conference “The City of Fountains Welcomes the Spring of Diabetes Knowledge” was held on September 26 in Kansas City and attended by 108 participants from Missouri, Kansas, Iowa and Nebraska.
December 2014:
Missouri earned the AADE Networking CB Community Badge for 2 quarters in 2014. Nancy Trebilcock sent me this : ‘when our Members update their profiles, make comments, replies, discussions, access calendar events, download resources/files, rate any postings, etc. they contribute to this achievement. There are currently several new Files posted in the 'download resources' section of the Missouri home page.’ Don't forget the information that Nancy Trebilcock, interim Web Admin, posted a few weeks ago regarding subscribing to the State or LNG Discussions groups, so that you don't miss out on future news. Lastly, the Board participated in several AADE Leadership phone conference calls throughout the year, hosted by AADE, providing useful updates for our volunteers and members.
Future:
Your Missouri Leadership Team needs Board Member representatives, from different areas of our State, to share their expertise and opinions for new projects and programs that will benefit our members. Two very important positions on our Board are: Web Admin, to manage the Missouri home page web site (for example: posting files and items on our calendar and occasional registration); and Finance Chair (Treasurer). Both positions come with training and support from the Board and the majority of meetings are held via the telephone. If travel is required it is reimbursed by the CB.
