The Challenge ....contact your legislator + get a picture

By Leisa Blanchard posted 04-07-2017 19:56

This is a reminder of the 20 for 3 in 17 Challenge. The deadline is fast approaching for our CB to submit verifiable, in-person visits with 20 different legislators in our state in order for us to be eligible for 3 free registrations to the Annual Conference in Indianapolis.

When we win - everyone who submits a picture with your legislator will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win.

In order for Diabetes Advocacy in Missouri to be effective, (you) advocates for people with diabetes, must form lasting relationships with state legislators in their home districts. Each one of has a state senator and a representative, they are enjoy hearing from their constituents.

Your legislator will be in district soon.  Have you connected with them yet?

There at many ways to connect:

1) Sign up for their new letter - they will let you know when and where they will be making public appearances.

2) Become Face Book friends - comment on legislation they discuss.

3) Send them a message and ask when they will be in district. The AADE provides easy ways to connect when you visit the Advocacy Action Center.

State Representative Mike Kelley was gracious and allowed me to take a "selfie" with him at the Governor's inauguration. (the picture would not display correctly - will post at a later date)
