AADE is celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month by providing several resources for diabetes Educators & people with diabetes. AADE reports that "diabetes affects approximately 12.8% of the U.S. Hispanic/Latino population. Given the progressive nature of the disease, focusing on the positive benefits of diabetes education is critical. This month we encourage diabetes educators to make a concerted effort to connect with those in the Hispanic/Latino community and meet them in their space. For individuals and families who prefer Spanish-language resources, we have developed a variety of tools below to help them connect, learn and grow".
To access various Spanish resources, start with the AADE home site: diabeteseducator.org; then click on the header: "check out AADE's Spanish Language Resources".
