HELLO MISSOURI AADE MEMBERS:
I POPPED ALL THE BUTTONS off my shirt this month when I read the entries for our State Diabetes Awareness Challenge. I am SO PROUD of the work that Diabetes Educator are doing every day, of every month, of every year, in our STATE. This year's Diabetes Awareness entries were SO varied and contained many GREAT ideas, such as poster sessions, bulletin boards, diabetes fundraisers, cooking classes, community health fairs, diabetic care club programs with free testing supplies, free blood sugar testing, use of social media to advertise and post facts and statistics, grandparent and caregiver classes, use of the public library to deliver education, and speaking with members of the Legislature and Congress. Keep up the GREAT work you are doing. You are not only preventing diabetes, improving the lives of person's with diabetes, but you are saving lives each and every day!!!!
