A very fond farewell and sincere note of appreciation to Missouri CB Volunteer Team Leaders: Chuck Termini, BS, RPh, CDE , from Kansas City, MO, Vanessa Montileone, BSN, RN, CDE and Alma Lansdon,RN, MSN, WHNP-BC , both from the Springfield, MO area. Chuck was our Web Admin/Technology leader for 2 years; Vanessa served as our Finance Chair for the past year and Alma was a Board Member-at- Large. Their support, enthusiasm, dedication, talents, and donation of their most valuable asset---their time—helped the MO CB remain vibrant and active.
Currently, the MO CB Board is seeking volunteers for the following positions: Finance Chair, Web Admin/Technology leader, Professional Development leader and a Board Member-at-Large. It is our goal to have all areas of the state represented. I am the current Chair and represent the St. Louis area. Leisa Blanchard, BSN, RN, CDE, CPT is the Advocacy Chair, from the southwest area of the state. Nancy Trebilcock, BSN, RN, CDE is our Past-Chair and also represents the St. Louis and St. Charles area. The majority of the CB interaction is done via conference calls, informal meetings at AADE, or a face to face meeting in a central and mutually agreeable location 1-2x per year. Our major project in 2014 has been the CE/networking event being planned for Kansas City on September 26: “The City of Fountains Welcomes the Spring of Diabetes Knowledge”. A committee of Educators from St. Louis, Kansas City and Lamar has been working on this project since January. Check the Missouri home page calendar frequently for updates about this program and other events.
