I cannot remember a time in my life where Diabetes was not present. Diabetes runs in my family, I grew up with it. I cannot remember a time that I did not want to become a "Diabetes Nurse". IN the early years of my nursing career, I gravitated toward being the Diabetes resource nurse on my hospital units and eventually I secure a position as an NP and Diabetes Educator at an Endocrinology practice. Since then I have owned my owned Diabetes specialty practice and now work as inpatient Diabetes Care NP. I have the career that I dreamed of as a child. Everyday I am grateful that I can learn from, work with, teach and provide care for people with Diabetes.
