November is National Diabetes Awareness Month and today, November 14th, is World Diabetes Day! We celebrate on November 14th, as it marks the birthday of Sir Frederick Banting who co-discovered insulin with Charles Best in 1922. The theme for this year’s World Diabetes Day is: Access to Diabetes Care – If Not Now, When? As we go through today, this entire month, and beyond, let us think of ways to highlight diabetes as a local, national, global issue and advocate for the millions of people (our family, friends, colleagues, ourselves) living with diabetes.
