ALBANY - It was a very special holiday gift for a local woman with Type 1 diabetes.
“Barb” was tired of doing five insulin injections daily.
So her doctor at Capital District Diabetes and Endocrine Care surprised her with an insulin pump on Thursday.
The equipment costs about $7,000 dollars and her insurance would not pay for it.
Another patient gave Barb the pump and enough supplies to cover her for a year.
