According to the countdown Widget on MyPage here on My AADE Network, there are 35 day and about 15 hours until diabetes educators from all over the country descend upon New Orleans and get their learning on!!
What are your plans for August 4-8th? Are you joining us in NOLA? About 50 North Carolina Members are. What are you looking forward to the most?
I love the networking that happens at the national meetings, both the planned and the by chance. And speaking of planned, there are a few events planned for this year.
Starting on Tuesday, August 4th, from 5:30-6:30, is the Coordinating Body & Community of Interest Networking Reception. This event was a lot of fun last year with having all the CBs and COIs in one room so that everyone could explore how we are all connecting. The event will be in Hilton New Orleans Riverside Hotel (exact room TBA). Your CB has a little fun planned up their sleeve, so come and visit us.
And while you are at the Networking Reception, you can pick up your ticket (a little gift from your CB) for AADE Foundation Celebration of Giving. This will be the 2nd annual Celebration and is planned for Friday, August 7th from 8-11pm.
As we have been using the My AADE Network more and more, we have qualified for the Incentive Program for a few quarters. We even won the drawing one quarter and were able to (through our on-line scavenger hunt) help send one of our members to the National Meeting. But, we also just found out that because we were an incentive winner, we have our own meeting room in the Hilton Riverside Hotel, the Norwich Room, for the duration of the meeting from August 5-7th. The CB has our next conference call on July 7th to discuss use of this space. What would you like us to do with it? Food prior to the Celebration of Giving? Breakfast before the really early General Sessions? Just a place for people to meet up prior to events? Let us know in the comments, remembering that this is the hotel near the convention center, not at the convention center.
