Timothy Daly, PharmD, CDE: Dr. Daly has 20 years of experience in patient education with Mission Health's Diabetes and Health Education Center and with Mission Health Partners MyHealthyLifeTM Wellness Program. He also has 15 years of experience as a clinical preceptor in Mission Health's PGY1 Ambulatory Care Residency Program.
Autumn Steen, PharmD, BCACP, CDE, CPP: Dr. Steen is a clinical pharmacist at Mission Diabetes Center and she has been a pharmacist working in ambulatory care for the past 6 years. She routinely adjusts, starts, and stops medications with a Clinical Pharmacist Practitioner license supervised by an endocrinologist. She is board certified in ambulatory care and is a certified diabetes educator in an ADA recognized Diabetes Self-Care program. She completed her PGY1 in ambulatory care at Mission and MAHEC after obtaining her PharmD at UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy at Chapel Hill.
Hope Warshaw, MMSc, RD, CDE, BC-ADM: Warshaw has been a RD and CDE for nearly 40 years. She has owned a consulting business for more than 3 years in which she provides services to individuals, associations and corporations focused on diabetes and nutrition. From 2011 through 2017 she served in national leadership positions with the American Association of Diabetes Educators. She continues to work closely with the association as a volunteer as well as volunteer leadership with other organizations.
Joanne Rinker, MS, RDN, CDE, LDN, FAADE: Joanne has 20 years of experience as a dietitian and certified diabetes educator working within single site DSMES programs, state wide programs, on the local, state and national level. She is currently the Director of Practice and Content Development for AADE.
Jodi Lavin-Tompkins, MSN, RN, BC-ADM, CDE: Jodi has been a certified diabetes educator for over 30 years and is in the current role of Director of Accreditation with AADE for 2 years.
Laura Tolle, RDN, LDN, CDE, CSOWM: Laura has been a CDE for 10 years and she is a board certified specialist in obesity and weight management. She has worked with Mission's Wellness team and Nutrition Environment Strategy team to create the vision, definition, and metrics as they move towards creating a healthy nutrition environment at Mission Health. Their goal is to provide affordable, balanced, complete, and delicious food where the healthy choice is the easy choice.
Karen Walter, M.A. Ed, ACSM Clinical Exercise Physiologist: Karen has a B.S. in Health Promotion and Exercise Science from Appalachian State University and a Masters in Education in Physical Education from Western Carolina University. She is a ACSM Clinical Exercise Physiologist and has the Exercise Is Medicine Credential. She also has 20 years of experience in the fitness and wellness field and she currently works at EBCI Cherokee Fitness Complex.
Stacy Eilers, RDN, LDN, CDE: When not practicing and learning more about sustainable, plant-based living and entomophagy (eating bugs), Stacy is busy helping individuals with diabetes. Over the past 13 years as a RDN, and now as a CDE, she has been passionate about helping people lead healthier lives.
Wendy Lane, MD: Dr. Lane is a Board Certified Endocrinologist who has 18 publications in journals including JAMA, Diabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, and others. She has over 35 years of clinical experience and 23 years of research involvement including 18 years as a Principal Investigator. She has been an invited speaker to multiple Annual ADA and AADE conferences, the Endocrine Association Annual meetings and the European Association for the Study of Diabetes annual conference.
Melinda Ramage, MSN, FNP-BC, CDE, CARN-AP: Melinda has worked in diabetes and addiction for the past 10 years as a nurse practitioner. As a CDE she has worked specifically in maternal fetal medicine serving as a primary care giver for pregnant and postpartum women who have T1 and T2DM. She also performs clinical consultation for diabetes care during pregnancy across the 16-county WNC region. She also works with providing primary addiction medicine care during pregnancy and through the lifespan. After receiving her addiction certification in 2017, she has expanded outside of clinical services to also provide education and training across the state of North Carolina.
Audrey Ulke, PsyD: Dr. Ulke completed her doctoral training at Widener University and her post-doctoral fellowship at the Counseling and Psychological Services center at St. Joseph's University. She began working at Mission Weight Management Center in 2016, where she conducts pre-surgical psychological evaluations for patients pursuing bariatric surgery, as well as works one-on-one with surgical and non-surgical patients to support them in making and maintaining healthy lifestyle changes.
Shawn W. Beane, MA, BS, BSN, RN, RPhT: Shawn has been a practice manager and RN manager for outpatient wound care centers for 16 years. He has expertise in billing and coding for not-for-profit and for profit organizations. He is currently the Practice/Nurse Manager for Mission Wound Care.
Mary Jane Yacopino, RN, CFCN: Mary Jane is a certified foot care nurse who works at Mission Wound Care and has worked in outpatient wound care for 27 years. She has also worked in an outpatient high risk foot care clinic for 9.5 years.
Katy Brooks, BSN, RN, CWON, CFCN: Katy has been an RN for 16 years and has been a certified wound care nurse for 10 years. She has also been a certified wound and ostomy nurse for the past 6 years. She has been a certified foot care nurse for 10 years.
Bill Flynn, BSN, RN, CDE: Bill has been a registered nurse for 13 years and a certified diabetes educator for 6 years with experience in glycemic management in an acute care setting for 8 years. He teaches patients how to manage diabetes by making healthy lifestyle choices both on the inpatient side and on the outpatient side as part of Mission Health's ADA recognized DSME program.
