Continuing Education Opportunities for the Busy Educator

As diabetes educators we are continually in search of opportunities for convenient affordable continuing education.  The needed continuing education may be to satisfy our professional license, CDE requirements, an accredited education program or a combination.

Seated learning opportunities that provide interaction with instructors and other participants is a great way to stay abreast of the latest information in diabetes education.  For some of us, getting away for a couple of days may not be feasible.  AADE provides several options for the busy educator to attain needed education hours and interact with participants and presenters.

Live webinars are available each month in the middle of the day (1pm EST) and are very affordable.  Connection is easy, handouts are made available prior to the event and evaluations are able to be completed following the webinar.  You are able to ask questions of the presenter and hear questions from others as well.  Everything, even your certificate of completion, is available at your keyboard!  If you are unable to participate in the live event, the recorded webinar may be purchased and completed at a time that is convenient for you.  Periodically, webinars are offered without charge to AADE members.  These include excellent and current topics of interest.

If it is more intense education that is needed, AADE offers several seated and online courses.  Seated courses allow for great networking with fellow educators.  Let’s not forget the annual meeting each August.  What a great way to network with local educators as well as those from other states!

Webinars, annual meeting information and course information is available on the AADE website.  Look under the “Education and Careers” section.  Don’t forget to share learning opportunities with your LNG!

Happy Learning!
