Brrrrr! When I think of Chicago in January, or really any month during the winter season, I imagine how cold the city is.
Empowered! When I think of AADE, any season, I imagine how wonderful the organization is to me & all diabetes educators.
Although it was cold last week in Chicago, the energy of the AADE Staff, National Leaders & CB Members quickly warmed my soul! Know that AADE has our back, front & all around best interests in mind. As for us, diabetes educators, we have our patients best interests in mind. I take comfort in knowing that having AADE advocating for me & my profession means I can focus my time & energy on my patients. We make the lives of those with diabetes easier by empowering the people we work with; AADE makes the lives of the educator easier by empowering us!
One of the focus areas of the CB Leadership Training this month in Chicago was around building Leadership within AADE. When I think of the educators in our great state of North Carolina I know how empowered we are to lead the way in our world of diabetes education. As we continue to build our leadership skills consider putting those to use within AADE, the organization that makes our lives easier.
Other topics that were focus areas of the training included Advocacy, Financial Planning, Continuing Education & Mission/Vision. As the year moves forward, please check the blog on our state page often for more information on these areas and many others. If you have any questions, or would like to become more involved with AADE at the local or State level, please reach out to me.
