I have focused my nursing career on diabetes in the areas of research, disease management, patient education and outreach. My passion for the community enables me to meet people where they are which is often at health screenings and education programs at churches, employer groups, community centers and local food banks. I enjoy my interactions with the community and feel most proud of the trusting relationships we have built together and the opportunities to link those in need with community services. I provide inpatient diabetes education and educate Caregivers and Internal Medicine Residents concerning diabetes management. I facilitate student rotations through the diabetes education program from local universities which always keeps me moving the program forward and developing new tools and methods to provide education that is patient centered.
