From the Diabetes Caucus:

Dear Partners,

Our partner Brent Wilborn, Oklahoma Primary Care Association, shared that the bill created by our Diabetes Caucus Chair, Senator Frank Simpson and co-authored by Senator Anastasia Pittman and Representative Pat Ownbey of the House has been signed by Governor Mary Fallin.  She signed SB972 yesterday in support of reviewing and potentially covering DSMT services in Medicaid.

There will be a formal signing.  Please come and show your support for what Senator Simpson and his colleagues have accomplished and for the work that must be done to achieve our mission and vision of the Oklahoma Diabetes Caucus.

Vision: to reduce the health and fiscal burden of diabetes in Oklahoma.

Mission: to educate members of Oklahoma legislature.

We thank Senator Simpson for crafting and authoring this bill, the tremendous effort to insure its passage, and his dedication to reducing the impact of diabetes in Oklahoma through his work with the Oklahoma Diabetes Caucus.

Thank you for the the work that each of you do to bring access to services that help to prevent diabetes and the complications associated with the disease.  Thank you for faithfully attending the Oklahoma Diabetes Caucus and other associated meeting when you can and thank you to those who are unable to attend but work for this shared vision and mission.  Thank you for sharing your wisdom and thoughts with others to strengthen and improve all diabetes programs serving Oklahoma.

Please thank Senator Simpson for inspirational leadership.
