Quick Healthy Breakfast Ideas

Are your patients asking for healthy breakfast ideas to keep up their 2021 goals?  Are you finding yourself staring into the abyss of the fridge before your morning video visits?  Below are some thoughts to get through those moments.

Quick tips for simple healthy breakfasts:

  • Aim for 3 food groups.
  • Forget perfection.  It doesn’t have to be the healthiest or most beautiful creation.
  • Whether you’re testing out a new kitchen gadget or wondering about glucose effects from a certain meal, give it a try and see what happens.

Examples:

  • Make a smoothie with milk or yogurt, fruit, and almond butter.  Pour any extra into popsicle molds for later.
  • Top toast with apple or banana slices, peanut butter, and cinnamon.
  • Make a parfait with yogurt, fruit, and nuts.
  • Cook some steel-cut oats ahead.  Pour into jars, and top with nuts, fruit, and cinnamon and put them in the fridge.  For a quick breakfast, add some milk and reheat in the microwave.
  • Make a frittata or egg bites ahead with eggs, low-fat cheese, and veggies, and store in the fridge and freezer.

What are some of your favorite quick breakfast ideas?
