Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) have announced some adjustments to their CGM policy that will go into effect on July 18th. Historically, Medicare required patients to test their blood sugar 4x/day to be a candidate for CGM. The new policy has removed all BG testing requirements. Patients still need to be taking insulin at least 3 times a day or using an insulin pump. Previously, the criteria only including insulin via injections, however, the new policy adds inhaled insulin to the approved methods of insulin delivery.
