Staying up-to-date with Diabetes Technology by Tammie Payne

There is a topic that has been weighing on my mind since last week’s announcement of the FDA approval of the Omnipod 5. How do we stay updated with new devices, recalls, and current trends in the world of diabetes. Patients are finding out about new products before providers and this creates a stir with calls coming into offices requesting the latest upgrade and providers not even being aware of the approvals.  How do we change this?  Joining the FDA devices database ( https://www.fda.gov/medical-devices/device-advice-comprehensive-regulatory-assistance/medical-device-databases ) to register for alerts on new devices and recall information, joining social media platforms , and subscribing to sites like diatribe, Beyond Type 1 , and ADCES danatech to name a few.  With the ever changing world of technology we need to stay abreast or be left in the clouds.  How do you stay up to date on new technology?
