Together.
Together the Coordinating Body of the Pennsylvania AADE summoned our energy and courage to formulate the 2015 budget. We met in our live meeting Saturday October 25. We have a responsibility to prepare ourselves as a board to serve every member in Pennsylvania. We have a mission to advance diabetes education to the provider, the patient and the community impacting population health. I shared in the meeting from my personal articles of faith as encouragement for us to pursue the work God has prepared in advance for us to do (Eph 2:10).
I had opportunity to share from my life coaching from Dr. Henry Cloud how we are designed for growth and success. You are too. We are created with emotions to be in relationship to use our gifts and talents to do the work God has prepared for each of us.
Let me share the shake down of the new 2015 board members!
Diane Battaglia – Finance Leader
Kathy Stroh – Advocacy Lead
Rosemary Takacs- Membership Leader
Lee Ann Redfern – Vendor Registration
Dagny Danga-Storm
Returning leaders:
Chelsea Johns steps up as Marketing Leader
Arlene Feleccia continues as Secretary
Cheryl Marco – steps up as Education Leader
Nancy Demkosky – continues as Technology Leader
Lisa Laird – continues as Chair
Amy Sullivan and Beth Ginck
We thank you Pat Adams for your service in 2014 as past Chair. Judy Barkanic – an amazing tenure of service throughout AADE finishing up as finance lead. Linda Harding, Eileen Komar and Marianne McAndrew finished their term with jobs well done (they made the conference go so smoothly!). Lastly, Marilyn Clougherty – a tremendous job as Education Leader for the past two conferences! I am annoyed when people interpret diligent hard work for “you made it look effortless” – you did both!
Everyone has a place to serve. How might you engage with your local networking group? Share with us your best practices! Write a blog. Comment on the COIs. Take under your wing a student from any of our disciplines and encourage their journey in diabetes education. Think of the possibilities --if we could infuse the energy and enthusiasm of 10 or 20 new student members into your LNG. Membership scholarships are available and the regular cost is only $50 a year for students. Encourage someone today.
Think upon this from Isaiah 54:2
“Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes.”
2015 promises to be one of growth and meaningful connection, caring for the needs of one another and the needs of those around us.
Together.
