We’re fast approaching the 2013 PA State Diabetes Education Conference on April 18 & 19. I’m excited about being   the keynote speaker to present on the newly revised National Standards for Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support. Now that the Standards are published…many of us ask what is in store for diabetes self-management education over the next 5 years. AADE Diabetes Education and Accreditation Program (DEAP), ADA Education Recognition Program (ERP) and CMS are soon to release their interpretive guidelines for diabetes education services. Healthcare reform is thundering down upon us with meaningful use criteria, care coordination, and the revamping of health care insurance coverage. Come, learn and discuss your thoughts and insights on how the revised evidence based standards can guide your delivery of diabetes education services in the emerging patient-centered health care models.
