While acting as the web administrator for our PA Coordinating Body I visited our site daily, assuring that articles were posted, the PA page was 'clean', events were listed and responded to questions from members.

Now that I have retired from the CB, I still visit. I go to our state page to check for recent blogs, new events and to check out COI (Community of Interest) articles.  The information shared in these articles is current and spot on for what is new and happening now in our world. I find that the wheel doesn't have to be reinvented, just modified for your specific area needs and some of the great info shared includes inpatient insulin guidelines, Joint accreditation woes and successes, diabetes camp policies and suggestions, and the list goes on!

When renewing my AADE membership, I included my LNG (WPLNG) as a choice and have, as an opportunity of membership to be included in information from all PA LNG's. just by going to our state page I have access to all of the PA LNG discussions and calendars.

I have been asked to help those who are not frequent site visitors to navigate the AADE site to get the most out of these visits.  How often do you stop by AADE?  Do you know that there is no charge for joining COI's and you can join as many as you find of interest to you?  Why not look into some COI's that aren't in your area of skill or interest and broaden your knowledge of diabetes?

On our state page, look into 'my communities' which takes you to each COI, discussions, blogs and files. See the megaphone on the right? View News And Announcements will take you to state information posted by other AADE members. Take a look at 'Download Resources' and catch up on minutes from the CB meetings.

Want to get more involved in you state LNG or CB but have time or travel restrictions?  Click on 'Get Involved' and select your availability and level of involvement then look below and you will see what positions and state needs are available.  I certainly would encourage you take a 'leap' and join in!

Thank you Diane for encouraging our members to take a look around our site, join groups and current dialogue. We welcome the input - even controversy! We'll get a taste of good debate at the 2015 state meeting in Harrisburg at the Hilton May 14-15. We plan an open panel on the vegan diet with our guests representing a more traditional approach - "Saturated Fat, the Rest of the Story". Registration will open January 1.

May anyone who needs some guidance on the network shoot you an email??

Thanks for the support and engagement! every day!

Lisa
