Chair, Texas State Conference Planning Committee

Description:

We are looking for new voices as Texas begins to plan the 2024 State Diabetes Conference. Each year we aim to host a conference with the goal of providing a variety of continuing education to increase knowledge and skills regarding diabetes care and education. We are seeking one CDCES from various backgrounds including but not limited to nursing, nutrition, pharmacy, physicians, and social workers, to serve as the Chair of the planning committee.

Overall Responsibilities: 

• Serve as the lead of the committee and liaison to the Texas LNG leadership team
• Serve as a member of the committee and perform duties as assigned; tasks vary from securing speakers, sponsorship, program agenda, marketing, and much more; tasks will be assigned based on interests

• Participate in monthly virtual calls and perform assigned tasks between calls
• Start Date: when filled
• Conference Date: Tentatively March 2024; term ends with conference or may continue on for the next year as desired
• Time commitment varies, estimated 1-2 hours per week, including monthly calls

Qualifications:

Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES)
