There are only a couple of days left on until the Senate again meets to make the final decision about the Health Care plan, Affordable Care Act, otherwise known as Obama Care.  President Trump tweeted “if Republican Senators are unable to pass what we are working on now, they should immediately REPEAL all and then REPLACE at a later date! “He wrote on Twitter.

Over the holiday, you may call your senator and ask when they are holding public events during the recess and where they stand on health care.

The number to call is 844–241–1141.  If you are unable to speak with someone in person, leave a message with your information and feedback. There is so much at stake here, including coverage for people on Medicaid, older persons, people with pre-existing conditions including those with diabetes.  Even if this bills disappears for a while, it is important that we stay focused on health care until we have a clear resolution.

Here are some key points to assist you with your phone call, with some tips taken from Daily Action:

I live in Utah and my ZIP Code is––. I am calling about the health care bill; the Better Care Reconciliation Act 2017, HR 1628.  Every single person in the United States will be impacted by this legislation.  I would like to know if the Senator understands that most Americans and the organizations that care for their health conditions can demonstrate that the GOP healthcare endangers lives.  Ask if the senator has town meeting scheduled over the July 4 recess.

Remember to thank them for giving constituents the opportunity to share other concerns. Input from the constituents and stake holders is crucial.

Thank your Senator for honoring their oath of office and maintaining a commitment to promoting good general welfare of the people.

Ask the senator to push for a bipartisan solution that does not endanger lies.
