Searching for Vermonters...$300 for Sharing Your Story

VT Dept of Health needs your patients’ help with obesity prevention TV ads:

I think Diabetes Educators and clinicians who work with people would be perfect to receive this and then reach out one-one to their patients who they think might be willing to share their personal stories. Note: it’s not only success with weight loss that we are seeking, but more of the “moments” and “aha’s” that people had before they decided to participate in a workshop.

 The Vermont Department of Health is launching an obesity awareness campaign in September. We are looking for Vermonters to be featured in our TV ads. Folks appearing on video will be given $300 for their time and travel.

See details below.  Please distribute through your networks as soon as possible. Better yet, please take a moment and do personal outreach to likely candidates*.

2013 Vermont Obesity Prevention Campaign
Searching for Vermonters

You can get $300 for sharing your story

The Vermont Department of Health is looking for everyday Vermonters willing to share their stories about personal struggles and triumphs with their weight.

We are launching a new statewide healthy living campaign to help Vermonters live healthier and happier lives. Specifically, we are looking for parents between the ages of 25 and 55 who:

1. Have struggled with losing weight;
2. Can tell us about a moment(s) in their lives when they realized they needed to make a change to how they were living;
3. Strive to set a positive example for their children by making healthier choices;
4. Try to make conscious choices to eat healthier and/or get more exercise.

Individuals selected will be asked to provide testimonials on camera of their experiences with their weight. This is an opportunity to help others learn from your experiences and motivate them to make positive changes in their lives. Your story can help hundreds or even thousands of Vermonters live happier, healthier lives.

If selected, filming will be conducted in mid August. Selected participants will be given a $300 honorarium for time, travel, and/or to replace wages. Final ads are planned to air statewide in Vermont in the fall of 2013.  If you or someone you know might qualify,

please contact Benjamin Mervis at the Vermont Department of Health by August 9, 2013. Call 802.859.5919 or email
Benjamin.Mervis@state.vt.us.
