The Green Mountain Care board has been meeting regularly to craft what Vermont Healthcare exchanges will look like. A baseline program has been chosen which is the BCBS Blue Care program. All plan in the bronze, silver, gold and platinum categories of the healthcare exchange system must include 10 essential health benefits. In January the plans will be sent to the Governor to begin budgeting and by January 2014 it will go into effect. It is not until 2017, with federal approval that the single payer system will go into effect. Further information and resources can be found on the fact sheet attached.
