Lorrie Rilko, DNP, FNP-BC, BC-ADM, CDCES, is the Diabetes Education and Outreach Manager for the Virginia Center for Diabetes Prevention and Education. She received her bachelor's and master's degrees from George Mason University and worked as a Family Nurse Practitioner in primary care for over thirty years. In 2017, she obtained her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), with a concentration in education, from George Washington University (GWU). She has been an Assistant Professor for the family nurse practitioner program at GWU and is currently a Visiting Professor at the Chamberlain University School of Nursing. Lorrie is board certified in Advanced Diabetes Management (BC-ADM), is a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES), and is a master lifestyle coach for the National Diabetes Prevention Program.
