Mentorship Lead

Goals of the Role:

This position supports the Washington CB Mentorship Goal, to provide opportunities to healthcare professionals to gain or advance their knowledge and experience, and to enter into or advance in the field of Diabetes Care.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Create a database for the WA CB of professionals and students who are interested in mentoring and mentorship
  • Create mentorship connections for individuals who are interested in joining the profession
  • Work with the LNG leads and the chair to create learning opportunities for individuals interested in joining the profession, and/or current DCES's who are interested in advancing their skillset (i.e. breaking into the world of diabetes technology).
  • Act as a liaison for local professional schools for students interested in becoming a DCES 
  • Participate in monthly Coordinating Body meetings (via Zoom or phone call) to provide updates and give feedback on any items at hand. 

Time Commitment:

This is a new position, so the time commitment is unknown and could change as the position evolves.  Estimated 2-4 hours per month as Mentorship Lead, and 1 hour per month for CB Meeting.  Once yearly in November we have a half-day CB Retreat meeting.
