Jerry Meece is a pharmacist and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist who is owner and Director of Clinical Services of Plaza Pharmacy and Wellness Center in Gainesville, Texas, the first freestanding pharmacies in the country to achieve Provider Education Recognition from the American Diabetes Association. His pharmacy and diabetes education center has received nationally recognized awards for innovation and implementation of diabetes education and management, including receiving Accreditation status by the Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialists. Jerry has delivered over 1,200 lectures across the country and internationally related to diabetes care, disease state management and behavior change in the health care setting and has published numerous articles on diabetes care and insulin use in the patient with diabetes. He currently serves as a consultant on several advisory boards, key opinion leader panels and speaker bureaus for several pharmaceutical and health care companies as well as consulting with the Department of Health for the state of Arizona to establish nationally recognized and accredited diabetes education centers in that state.
