I am the founder of a community health, wellness, and preparedness organization in Stewartown, Pennsylvania. The organization, Care First Education LLC, aims to improve the health and wellness of vulnerable communities by increasing access to quality health, safety, and preparedness resources.
As a registered nurse, I was fortunate to care for those suffering from life-limiting chronic diseases. In this role, I noted that insufficient education or inadequate transfer of health, safety, and preparedness information led to poorer patient outcomes, both mentally and physically. After graduating with a master's degree in nursing education and teaching in a university setting for over 2 years, I returned to the community setting with a new mission: to improve community health through learner-centered education, resources, and support.
