Med-Surg, OR, and PACU Nurse for 17 years (CNOR). I began working in diabetes education in 2006 at Lanier Health Services (now EAMC-Lanier). In 2012 the Diabetes Team leader for St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, GA, for the acquisition of the Joint Commission Advanced Diabetes Certification. Served as chair of the inpatient glycemic team for one initial survey and two more subsequent re-certification surveys. Presented diabetes poster to AADE in 2011. Past experience as a contracted insulin pump trainer. Also currently served in the past as an instructor for BLS, ACLS, and PALS under AHA guidelines. Previous NP work in endocrinology and family practice.  I am now serving as an Assistant Clinical Professor/FNP Coordinator for MSN FNP students—an academic focus on pharmacology, endocrine, adult-gero care, healthcare policy, and ethics. Academic research interest is metabolic syndrome, depression, and diabetes. CDCES since 2008, BC-ADM since 2023. DNP degree conferred December 2023. Freelance diabetes education on a PRN basis. Private endocrinology practice PRN. DNP capstone project, "Implementation of a Depression Screening Tool in a Primary Care Setting".
