Bio

My personal journey with Diabetes began when I was diagnosed with T1D in 1998. I was working as a Pediatric nurse at the time and l quickly learned how little I really understood about T1D management. My brother was diagnosed in 1989 at the age of 14. He was very private about his diabetes. We lived in the same home and still I did not realize the impact of living with T1D until it happened to me. I slowly worked my way toward becoming a full time diabetes educator. I became a CDE in 2012. My special interests are diabetes technology and diabetes in pregnancy.

I have a husband, 4 children and a beautiful Goldendoodle named Scarlett. She is not a therapy dog, but she is certainly therapeutic for me. I live in Chester Springs PA and enjoy walking, reading and traveling. I currently work for Beta Bionics as a Sr. Clinical Diabetes Specialist for the Harrisburg Territory.

I have decided to participate with ADCES to connect and share experiences with other people in the diabetes community. We have so much to share with one another!
