Dr. Wendy Mobley-Bukstein PharmD is Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice in the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences at Drake University. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Drake University in 1999 and is a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist, Board Certified Ambulatory Care Pharmacist and Certified Health and Wellness Coach. Her teaching responsibilities include the Advanced Diabetes Care and Principles of Nutrition electives within the Diabetes Concentration. Wendy has a long-standing passion and commitment to diabetes. Her clinical practice site at Primary Health Care East Side Clinic focuses on the education and medication management of patients with diabetes. Currently, she is the co-president and grassroots/advocacy lead of the Iowa chapter of the Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialists. In this role, Wendy blogs for the MyADCESNetwork discussion board, plans CE workshops for the Iowa educators, plans and organizes community awareness outreach and works on legislative efforts- most recently the IA Medicaid billing changes to testing supplies. She is a member of the Camp Hertko Hollow Board of Directors, a member of the Iowa Diabetes Summit planning committee and a member of the State of Iowa Diabetes Action Plan committee. Outside of the diabetes world, Wendy is a member of the American Pharmacist Association (APhA), where she has been the chair of the Diabetes Management Special Interest Group and the voice for clinical specialty pharmacists in the APhA- Academy of Pharmacy Practice and Management’s Executive Committee.
