On November 2, 2017, President Trump signed Senate Bill 920 into law.

The bill establishes a commission comprised of medical professionals, patient advocates, and federal experts who collectively will evaluate existing federal clinical care activities related to diabetes and other insulin-related metabolic and autoimmune diseases. The Commission will make recommendations to the Secretary of Health and Human Services and Congress to translate research and clinical efforts at the governmental level to improve the patient care. The Commission will be comprised of many experts in diabetes and metabolic disease, primary care and allied health professionals and patient advocates.

Before the legislation is enacted, the regulatory process for the new law will be established.  This process will take months.

The House Energy and Commerce Committee also published this press release about the signing of this legislation:  https://energycommerce.house.gov/news/press-release/two-energy-commerce-bills-signed-law/
